Youth Orchestra of Charlotte Debut Concert

Come experience the inaugural concert of the Youth Orchestra of Charlotte (YOC) on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 3:30 pm at Dale F. Halton Theater (1206 Elizabeth Ave., Charlotte, NC 28204). Tickets are available at the Halton Theater Box Office and tix.cpcc.edu ($10 for adults | $6 for students and seniors).

Don’t miss the concert sounds of “Overtures and Celebratory Dances” featuring audience favorites: Bizet’s Carmen Suite 1, Strauss’ Blue Danube Waltz, Wagner’s Overture to Rienzi, Rossini’s Overture to the Barber of Seville, and several other exciting works.

Music Director and conductor Dr. Ernest Pereira, who has nurtured the talents of the region’s finest young musicians for over 30 years, leads the Youth Orchestras of Charlotte. Dr. Pereira previously conducted the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras, leading them in performances at Charlotte’s Festival in the Park, Summer Pops at Symphony Park, as well as at national concert venues in Washington, DC, and Charleston, SC for Piccolo Spoleto. Twice, Dr. Pereira has conducted youth orchestra performances at the prestigious venue of Carnegie Hall in New York City (in 2002 and 2017). His inspiration, experience, and dedication have enhanced and elevated the musical training of many talented students throughout the Carolinas
